We are looking for teachers who are interested in using ICT to support project based learning across schools.
VDEI is supporting students to commence learning across school campuses using a variety of tools on cross curricular, multi-age project based learning.  Evidence suggests that this approach will enrich the curriculum for students at both sites and learning opportunities could be expanded in the long term across multiple schools year levels and subjects.
An example of one such project was carried out between 140 students across Years 5 -10 from three schools, Eltham High School, Brauer College and Pascoe Vale Primary School in June 2012.
The first step was to develop the teachers’ professional skills to meet the needs of being an educator in the 21st century and then encourage students to collaborate across schools, while at the same time improving their online skills.   Some of the software used in the project included Edmodo, wikispaces, YouTube, Google Docs and Spreadsheets, webs and iMovie.
A video of their finished project can be found here
A video on that PD can be found here
