Do Deaf people think in sign language when they read in English and/or other written languages?
Dr Erin Wilkinson, professor in the Linguistics department at the University of Manitoba, presented her findings to VDEI on Wednesday 20 March 2013.   These findings revealed that Deaf bilinguals activate American Sign Language (ASL) signs when they read English words.
VDEI appreciated the opportunity to organise this with Dr Wilkinson, through collaboration with Dr Adam Schembri from LaTrobe University.
