Do you work with students who will be transitioning from school to further education or work in the near future? Would sharing the transition process experience through the eyes of Victorian practitioners help you in your professional practice?  Would you like to learn more about deafConnectED and VDEI resources to help teachers involved in the transition process?
 
Then join us at VDEI on 25 February for a twilight session 5-7pm.
 
Highlights of the program include:
  • Cathy Clark outlining the support offered by deafConnectED and the resources they have developed
  • Amanda Purcell and  Ian Saynor outlining the transition process at different secondary settings
  • Grace Broadbent and Sharron Woolfe presenting the resources developed at VDEI to support the transition process, including narrated PowerPoints for teachers and parents and checklists adapted by Victorian practitioners for use with Victorian students.
​LEARNING OUTCOMES

After this twilight, participants will be able to: 

  • understand best practices for transitioning from school to tertiary education and the workforce 
  • locate and use transition information and resources 
  • apply resources about transition for students who are DHH.​ 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The closest train station to VDEI is the Prahran station, on the Sandringham line.
 
The closest tram stops are Tram Stop 27 (cnr St Kilda Road and High Street) and Tram stop 28 (cnr Punt Road and High Street).

PARKING

Two parking options are available within close walking distance to VDEI’s learning centre.
1. metered street parking available along St Kilda Road and High Street and 
2. all day paid car parking in nearby complexes, we recommend:
 
    •    Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, Queens Road (crn Lorne Street)
    •    Wilson Carpark, Queens Lane.
