Dr Rosalind Herman is a qualified speech and language therapist specialising in deaf clients.  She is based at City University London where she lectures to trainee speech and language therapy students; and runs the Sign Language Assessment Clinic, offering communication and literacy assessments to deaf child and adult BSL users. 

Ros was instrumental in the development of two standardised assessments of British Sign Language Development, contributed to the development of the DfES Early Support Monitoring Protocol for Deaf Babies & Children and a BSL standardisation of the MacArthur Communicative Development Inventory.  Ros is a research associate at the Centre for Deafness, Cognition and Language Research at University College, London.
