As part of the project two teachers of the deaf spent a day visiting two other facilities, where the students receive support from qualified teachers of the deaf and are included in mainstream education. This program was designed to further develop an understanding of the coordination of a Deaf facility within a school.

The school visits strengthened knowledge around assessment and planning and the use of a variety of hearing augmentation devices. It enabled those involved to experience a range of resources for auditory skills, language development and social skills. Discussions with facility coordinators assisted in understanding the enrolment process including the preparation of necessary documentation.
