On 8 March 2022, the Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI) sponsored the Visiting Teacher Service (Hearing) Statewide Virtual Conference, a full day conference aimed at teachers and educational staff supporting students with hearing loss.
Delivered by WebEx and managed by VDEI's Technology Specialist, the day covered a range of topics including an introduction to hearing loss, the impact of hearing loss on communication, insight into the wellbeing of deaf and hard of hearing students, practical guides to supporting the reading and spelling skills of students with hearing loss, as well as inclusive strategies to support students with hearing loss in mainstream classroom settings. Following on from the success of the live event, the Visiting Teacher Service (Hearing) Statewide Virtual Conference recording is now available for viewing.
