About the program

Dr Gabrielle Hodge discusses the benefits of Auslan and the value of bilingualism for deaf and hard of hearing children.

The Educational Interpreter Virtual Hub (EIVH) has been developed by the Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI) as part of the Educational Interpreter project, a workforce initiative designed to support Educational Interpreters working in Victorian schools.

The EIVH is an online space providing access to resources, information and professional learning opportunities. The Hub promotes a community of practice approach, where peer to peer support and communication is enabled in a supportive online environment.

VDEI is committed to supporting the Educational Interpreter workforce by creating opportunities for connection, engagement, and learning.

The Educational Interpreter Virtual Hub is available to practitioners working in Victoria as Educational Interpreters including those who may be employed in different roles but provide Educational Interpreting support (such as bilingual Teachers of the Deaf, and other Education Support Staff)

To access the Educational Interpreter Virtual Hub please complete the application form below.

The Educational Interpreter Virtual Hub is hosted on the Inclusive Education Professional Learning (IEPL) Canvas LMS. For a sneak peek of the Hub view the following short navigation video.
