Course learning objectives
- Explore the science of reading & how it is reflected in Victoria’s approach to teaching reading F-2
- Review the key components of how students learn captured in the Victorian Teaching & Learning Model 2.0.
- Consider the typical signs & symptoms
- Explore a range of screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring tools
- Delve into a range of strategies & adjustments
- Become familiar with assistive technology options & understand the importance of individualised selection & ongoing support
Course requirements
- Complete the pre- and post-course evaluations
- Engage with the online course content (approximately 1-2 hours per week)
- Collaborate with others and reflect on your learning
- Apply learning via a course workbook
- Consolidate knowledge with two x 1 hour face-to-face/virtual sessions
