Course learning objectives

  • Learn how to identify the functional needs of students with learning difficulties in the classroom
  • Develop an awareness of screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring tools
  • Reflect on the potential link between learning difficulties & challenging behaviour
  • Develop an understanding of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
  • Explore a range of supports & adjustments for students with learning difficulties
  • Become familiar with assistive technology options & understand the importance of individualised selection and ongoing support

Course requirements

  • Complete the pre- and post-course evaluations
  • Engage with the online course content (approximately 1-2 hours per week)
  • Collaborate with others and reflect on your learning
  • Apply learning via a course workbook
  • Consolidate knowledge with one x 1 hour face-to-face/virtual session
