Course learning objectives
- Learn how to identify the functional needs of students with learning difficulties in the classroom
- Develop an awareness of screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring tools
- Reflect on the potential link between learning difficulties & challenging behaviour
- Develop an understanding of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
- Explore a range of supports & adjustments for students with learning difficulties
- Become familiar with assistive technology options & understand the importance of individualised selection and ongoing support
Course requirements
- Complete the pre- and post-course evaluations
- Engage with the online course content (approximately 1-2 hours per week)
- Collaborate with others and reflect on your learning
- Apply learning via a course workbook
- Consolidate knowledge with one x 1 hour face-to-face/virtual session
