This course develops your knowledge and understanding about Universal Design for Learning (UDL) including how to design inclusive lessons.

Course learning objectives

  • Learn about what UDL is and the 3 principles that form its framework
  • how UDL aligns with the Victorian Department of Education’s values, vision and models
  • how to design inclusive lessons aligned to the Victorian Curriculum and the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0 using UDL
  • how UDL can positively impact student behaviour and wellbeing

Course requirements

  • Complete the pre- and post-course evaluations
  • Engage with the online course content (approximately 1-2 hours per week)
  • Collaborate with others and reflect on your learning
  • Apply learning via a practical learning activity
  • Consolidate knowledge with two x 1 hour face-to-face/virtual sessions

Time commitment

  • 7 weeks (course duration)
  • 17 hours of professional learning
    (contributes towards VIT registration requirements)
